Microbial Aromatic Amino Acid Derivatives
Targeted method quantifying 24 microbial derivatives of the aromatic amino acids’ tryptophan, phenylalanine, and tyrosine using LC-MS/MS with MRM. Quantitation is performed using calibrations of up to 10 concentration levels and 5 labeled internal standards.
Kynurenine
Kynurenic acid
Quinolinic acid
Tryptamine
Serotonin
Indole
Indole-3-lactic acid
Indole-3-acetic acid
Indole-3-acrylic acid
Indole-3-propionic acid
Indole-3-pyruvic acid
Indole-carboxyaldehyde
3-Phenyllactic acid
3-Phenylpropionic acid
Phenylacetic acid
Phenylacetyl-L-glutamine
Phenylacetyl-L-glycine
Phenylpyruvic acid
t-Cinnamic acid
p-Coumaric acid
4-Hydroxyphenylacetic acid
4-Hydroxyphenylpyruvic acid
3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)lactic acid
3-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)propionic acid
Note: The method is also able to detect precursors’ tryptophan, phenylalanine, and tyrosine. However, due to their high concentrations, these 3 metabolites cannot be quantified within the same sample run as the Microbial Aromatic Amines panel. At extra cost, a separate sample run can be performed.
